A six-month acceleration programme for Victorian non-fiction creators working at the intersection of art and technology.

About the Programme

Frame Doc Labs is our flagship annual programme that combines both project and professional development for a select cohort of artists interested in developing a non-fiction project using emerging technologies. Aimed at mid-career practitioners and inspired by proven international models, the programme will provide structured experimentation and professional guidance to help creators develop their IP, grow their networks and elevate their profile.

Running from February to August, this programme will provide four teams of Victorian creators support for prototyping new methods, processes and approaches to bring their non-fiction immersive stories to light.

Labs

A series of three focused development labs with leading international guests to explore ideas, techniques and technologies, including one residential lab.

Funding

$15,000 early stage funding to kick-start development.

Free access to a curated series of talks and masterclasses, featuring international guests, open to the public, to expand your reach.

Showcase

An end-of-programme showcase of work to funders, investors and partners.

Who can apply?

The 2024 Frame Doc Labs program is seeking either individuals or teams that fit the following criteria:

  • You are a creative practitioner interested in the intersection of art and technology.

  • You have been working in a creative field for a minimum of five years.

  • You are either already developing or are interested in developing a non-fiction project using emerging technologies.

  • Either you or one member of your team is currently residing in Victoria.

  • You can fully commit to participation in all three labs and one showcase over a six-month period (February-August 2024).
